Our pop up tents are built tough and as such they see conditions that vary from the outback all the way to the top of the snowy mountains.

This marquee for the Scots College is one that we think requires a particular mention not only because of where it is being used, but also for the design of the top. We really applaud certain design elements and thought that it was worth a mention of how this pop up tent is designed.

Keeping it simple and only using the two school colors is a good starting point, but we think it turned out particularly good because of the alternating reverse color panels and valances.  It just keeps it really classy and clean. Awesome.

Anyone up the mountains this year during interschool snowsports, keep an eye out for this beauty. We’d love to see pictures of it in use!

We always love seeing our pop up gazebos out and about, and while just searching YouTube we stumbled across this video from one of our customers who uses our marquees for hire, Rapid Marquees, setting up one of our 35 series 3×3m’s as a demo.

A lot of the time people ask us “exactly how easy are your pop up gazebos to use” and we say very while trying to explain how to use them, but it’s always great to have real world videos like the above to back us up.

We are great lovers of animals here at Canopy Outdoor and as such we just wanted to quickly let everyone know about some marquees we recently made for Pedigree and the worthy cause they being used for.

In Australia, over 100,000 dogs are euthanased every year. The Pedigree Adoption Drive aims to help reduce that number by actively adopting out dogs to new homes. Last year, over 3000 dogs were rescued, with this years target set at 4000

So if you see one of these portable gazebos around -

The great thing about Australia is all the opportunities available to those who seek them. One community initiative that is popular in Australia is the provision of grants. These grants are available from both corporations and government departments.

These grants can be used to fund anything from marquees and canopies, all the way through to BBQ’s and general supplies. In our experience, we have found that it is best to submit a quotation with a grant application. For this, we suggest you contact us and organise a quotation for the submission.

These major organizations provide funding:

• Grants@DPCD – Grant programs administered by the Department of Planning and Community Development

In addition to the resources we provided above, you can contact your local council and see what support they provide for NPO’s within their community. Most councils set aside some budget every year for community initiatives.

Even further, you can contact any current sponsors you have for your club and suggest a printed marquee as a good way to expose their brand/organisation to the local community. We have extensive experience with printing canopies and know exactly what works, and what doesn’t.

So this year the Future Music Festival in Melbourne was washed out, but that didn’t stop a lot of people from still going. Like most festivals, there were a lot of marquees around available for people to stand under and provide shelter.

A funny photo we found online was one of about 20 people picking up a marquee, holding it from the legs, and then using it as a portable shelter.

Although we don’t recommend this type of use, this, we believe, takes the idea of a portable marquee to the next level!

Coming to a race track near you! Just a bit of an update to show one of the new portable gazebos that we have just made for Hankook Motorsport. Yet again, a simple design produces an effective impact.

Recently we have been developing our new marquee awning, and now it has finally been released!

Currently it is only available in one size and color (3m and white), but this is suitable for most of the different sized marquees.

A nifty feature is that the awning is actually adjustable in pitch. So if sun or rain is coming at an angle to the front, the awning can be pitched down to accomdate this.

Additionally, two awnings can also be fitted together on a 6m length of a 3×6m by sharing a centre support pole.

We have just updated our marquee accessories page to a new layout that is more simple and easy to read.

In addition, we have updated with some details on new accessories we now have available. These include our updated leg weights (A new and improved design) and also a new product to our range, awnings.

The leg weights are now 15kg and suitable for between one to four legs, so if a couple marquees are set up side by side, they can all be weighted down at the same time. The same leg weights are now also suitable for all three series of frames.

Sometimes the most effective things are the most simple things, and that is no different when talking about a printed marquee. Choose a nice color, add a few logos and thats it. There is no need to go over the top when it comes to competing visual elements.

Of course, it depends on what you are trying to achieve with the marquee. If you are not trying to use it for selling something, and the intended purpose is branding, then the best choice you can make is to keep everything that is on the roof as clear as possible.

For branding purposes, you want the logo to be easily recognized and the name, website and/or phone number to be prominent. Choose a nice background color, even one that is custom to your organization, and ensure that the colors of your logo contrast well. Big logo on the panels, name and website on the valances, and that’s it.

This is exactly what RioTinto did here, and it seems to have worked flawlessly. You can certainly imagine that marquee erected at a corporate field day, not only providing valuable shade but also working hard to promote RioTinto.
